I am in Beaver County PA. Does anyone know of any CW sites that I may explore. BEaver County is about 45 min., north of Pittsburgh PA.
Thanks to all...and good hunting.

I may be wrong but I don't think any skirmishes went that far north on this side of PA.

I live a few miles from the W.Va border and did hear of a small skirmish at Morris crossroads near Point Marion. This occurred right before the battle of Gettysburg.
Word has it that the Confederates were wanting the Union to believe that a battle was going to take place near Point Marion. Their plan was to draw some of the yanks from Gettysburg to head west for the fight. It never really paned out. At about the same time frame some Union soldiers were digging trenches in my home town of Fairchance PA.
I was given the location of these trenches but it was all strip mined for coal.

All of the above was told to me by a local historian years ago.

What about a few days to a week before Gettysburg?

Didn't Ewell march his Corps north of Gettysburg at first, more towards Harrisburg, then swing down and head to Gettysburg to meet the rest of the ANV?

Surely there were some small skirmishes if he did...seems like I read about 2nd Corps seizing some Union supplies or towns as they were coming south twd Gettysburg.

I drive through Romney WVa every year..nice little sleepy town good peaches and apples too:wink: I'd like to go there in the fall for 2 or 3 days just to hunt. I believe I'm an hour and a half drive from there.

Keyser? I know of keyser WVa near the Maryland WVa border off of 68. Is that the one Tom?
