I've now broken two detectors in just a week:icon_mad: . Perhaps I should quit slamming my coil against trees and brush. Still a good day in the woods enjoying God's creations. Any ideas on the little bullet in the middle? It's around a 25 cal or so, has a tapered point which is boxed on the tip. Found at a skirmish site.

1/4 steel. Might be just a little heavy but I doubt it will break for a year or 2.

Hi Martin. I am originally from Hurricane, WV. It's midway between Huntington (home of Marshall University) and Charleston (where I now reside). My relic hunting partner, WVTom lives close by in Red House. We do a lot of relic hunting all up and down the Kanawha River and around the New River. From what I have read, the 22nd Virginia Volunteers fought under General Floyd when they were in the eastern part of the Kanawha Valley. Unfortunately for the 22nd, Floyd was a political appointee. He failed miserably as a leader, and as a fighting man. Some called him a coward who sold out his troops. Hope your GGGrandpa survived that experience. HH

Yes Floyd and Wise didn't get along and wouldn't support each other. My gg grandfather was from Bland County Va.. He made it till July 9th 1864. He was wounded and captured at the Battle of Monocacy. He did live through the war though. I'm jealous of you guys. I've always wanted to detect for CW relics. Now my back won't stand the walking. I joined this board to see and read what you guys are finding.
