At the first site: 12 bullets in 5 varieties. Funny thing, they were all found on a steep bank within a verical strip 12' by 2' (1861 US-forward camp). Five of the mushroomed bullets were in a hole that grew to be the size of a pie plate. Under an eye loupe, I noticed that one bullet has a tiny piece of wood wedged in it. Maybe they were shooting at a tree that's long gone now. The nice white .69 dropped bullet was near the 5 'bullseye' bullets.
The smooth .58 and .69 I'm not familiar with. I've not recovered these types around here before. Enfields?? They have some iron in them. The discoloration is rust.
Think they might have been field testing new weapons? Old time shooting match? The coin is a nice 1904 IH. Probably dropped by a hunter, or a logger.
Second site: more .69 minies and some blast field lead (exploded weapons dump site). Happy hunting.

Are bullets worth anything, or is it the fact that they are historical in value?

The enfields are .577 caliber. The bullet that had the piecs of wood in it might be a shot enfield if it has no rings.... Reason being is because some enfield bullets had a boxwood plug in the cavity.

Nice finds
