I found this today with Harry. We were at a 1859 site. It was in the civil war section of a cemetery around 4 inches deep, right in front of a marker that was so old I couldn't read anything on it.

The front says Pennsylvania Co. In the middle are the letters PCO

The back of it has the words Waterbury button Co.
Does anyone know anything about it. I think it was brass plated. I'm sorry but this is all the better my scanner can do.
thank you for looking. http://www.phpbbforfree.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_question.gif

Thanks Tom. I didn't mention the cemetery was started in 1859 and has a lot of C.W. markers in it. That was where I was searching.:bthumb:

It has the appearance of one Bobby, I have found a couple myself, different type. I'm going by the lines that run across the dome of the button. It could possible be a militia button. Have you looked up button back marks on the internet to find the dates your back mark was manufactured?

Have you checked out www.civilwaroutpost.com (http://www.civilwaroutpost.com) ? They have photos from lots of buttons and other relics. I didn't have time to check for it myself this morning. Hope you got the real deal.
