Took two short trips this weekend. Found the .69 and .58 minies about a quarter mile from the union camp yesterday. This afternoon, I went to the camp and found the eagle button (tin back with solid shank) within 5 feet of the two gardener bullets. Billy Yank must have been in a hurry to take cover. The "coin" button has RICH GOLD COLOUR with a wreath imbossed on the reverse. Still looking for the belt plate that's out there waiting on me. HH!

Some nice fired bullets and buttons. I used to hunt around Harpers Ferry, Charlestown and Summit Point WVa. (before I moved to N.C.) Are you any where near there?

I appreciate the positive comments. Although I'm nowhere near the treasure hunter that many of you are, I've been pretty lucky this year relatively speaking.
NB Digger: No, I've never hunted in that part of the state. I live just outside of Charleston. We normally hunt in Fayette and Nicholas Counties. Lots of West Virginians in NC aren't there? I wonder how long it's going to take before they get together and form the state of Western North Ca'lina?
