Hello,
Would you like to have battles & skirmishes by states? If you do I may need a little help. I can list the states as sub-categories but would need some of you to add the skirmishes & battles to each state.
I think we should have more than a link for each battle but should have some documentation pertaining to each battle.
What do you all think? Or is this enough for awhile?

Hi Rip, Thanks.
I was going to expand the ArrowHeads, Indian Artifacts & Fossils (http://www.treasurequestxlt.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=103) forum soon and them will be good categories.

Greg,
Alot of info can be found in regards to the battle sites for the War Between the States at http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/. You can also look up micro film number for indiviuals to look up at the federal archives.
I will post what I have and hope it helps some. Some of my info is incomplete and some is sketchy at best. I have a couple of original field reports from Colonel John Hughes CSA that I will try to scan at a later date and post. May save it for the newsletter. Either way, it has some details regarding raids on Federal Supply Trains and how they derailed one train and shot a hole through the boiler with a parrot gun, supply train attack locations, ect. He was stuck behind enemy lines for almost a year and caused all kinds of problems for the North. Col. Hughes was my wife's Grandmother's Uncle on her mother's side. We are thinking about loaning them to the new UDC Confederate Museum over in Ft. Worth, TX.
Almost forgot, Some info can be located through your local SVC camps. Go to www.scv.org (http://www.scv.org) and look for the camp closest to your area. Also our cousins up north also have a web site as well. It is www.uvcw.org (http://www.uvcw.org) and they should have some info avaliable as well about local veterans and some info on battles these guys participated in..

I would like to see topics from the different states. A lot of us are not fortunate enough to live in a area where there were c.w. sites to explore, without a rather long drive. I live in western PA., and would like to see articles that are nearer to my home.
I imagine that there are others that would be interested in reading about sites near their homes or in their state.
Not that I don't truly enjoy seeing the treasure that are found in c.w. areas but I can't get there to detect and would like to learn more about sites that I can detect and still get home to the family in the evenings.
Of course this is just my humble opinion.
thank you for considering this idea.

Hello,
Thanks for your feedback.
I'll start to create State sub-categories. Please list known Civil War battles and skirmishes in the state it was fought. Try to refrain from just adding a link to another site. If copying anything to our site be sure it is not copyrighted.
Be as detailed as you can in the description & title of each post.
Thanks,
Greg
