Could you please give me the dimensions of the item? Appears to be an old cloth cinch but I need to know how large it is and it's approx. weight...PAPPY:smile:

thanks pappy/greg It's 2"x1 1/2 weight just under 1/4 oz on a float scale. I was looking for (nicholson run blockhouse)along the allegheny river built in 1791 just up river from clinton. the points swilvel on the frame and it's fairly thin mabe was two parts ? it's missing a small piece on the one end that mabe went over a button or something. Thanks for the info.:bow: HH

It is a suspender buckle. It looks to be a Civil War era buckle and similar in design to some that I have found over the years. There are many shapes and designs with these buckles. Did you look closely to see if it has any writing on it? Some are marked with patent dates.

I concur with Roger. Definetly suspender buckle. Nice find as they are pretty fragile.
