Yes I went back to the same place as yesterday. Started out in the garden and the only two good signals were, you quessed it Aluminum! Enough of that so I started down the creek and hunted the opposite side I hunted yesterday. Nothing but recent junk as this is along the main road so I went back across the creek to an area I didn't search yesterday (a small strip between a hog fence and the creek). I started up the slope when that smooth large signal came through the head phones. My first thought was a buckle but I had dug several Zinc lids yesterday. I got in the digging position and dug my plug......and there She lay!!!!! Picked Her up between both hands and Again looked straight up and THANKED THE LORD SEVERAL TIMES!!!!! It wasn't over 1 1/2" deep and I couldn't believe it! Man what a RUSH and wondering if the Tongue was to be found! I lay it back in the hole and took two pictures and then lay it beside the hole for another.
Around five hours and another pouch full of Old Home Place Brass and a few Civil War items later (I will show the other finds tomorrow as it's late) the Tongue portion wasn't to be found. I can only figure that a previous digger found that part or it's underneath some of that Big Iron.
Showing the field picture this time but I will follow-up with more scans later.

I Most Certainly Gave Thanks Today,
Hoping Everyone Had A Great Thanksgiving As Well!
Until Tomorrow, Happy Hunting, Roger

Here's a scan of the other finds and stitched before and after cleaning: Face and Back. I also found an Iron Butt Plate but it's in bad shape and soaking. I've put the suspender buckle in Olive Oil trying to remove some more of the attached crud.
I went back today trying to find the Tongue without luck and didn't find much at all. Carried the Wreath by Shiloh Relics to get it appraised and confirmed that it is a US Artillery Sword Buckle Wreath. The Tongue could have had either "US" or "SNY". May have to research some old diggers that dug there before me and try to find the missing tongue.

Thanks For Looking,
Hoping The Best Of Luck To All,
Happy Hunting, Roger

Awesome finds Roger. I would hit that place hard, and then hit it again. Just never know what you might have missed the first time around.
