To date this is my best CSA piece. It is actually the very first CW period button I ever dug!:zbday: Begginers luck I suppose and since it has been slim in CSA finds.:banghead: Here's hoping for future finds.

Hey Travis, That's a nice looking button! I've never found a South Carolina button (I don't think those troops were around these parts) but I've bought a few for my collection.
It's strange but true, my first dug button was a Louisiana Coat Button! Total to date: 270 (+/-) Union, Floral, Coin buttons (or parts of) to 6 CS buttons.....go figure why the CS stuff is worth more!
Keep Swinging cause that's the only way you'll dig it!

yea, the south was really poor, got to remember there whole livelyhood was cotton and tobacco unlike the industrial north. Alot of the south's military items ie. uniforms, buttons, bullets ect came from Europe with the blockade runners. The only tried and true Confederate only items I have are three bullets I was lucky enuff to dig.....HH.....Bill
