Showing some better scans of my personally dug CS Civil War Buttons. The first shown (Louisiana Gilded Coat) was my first dug CW button! The Mississippi "A" and the W. M. I. Cadet were dug the same day about 30 foot a part. The Manuscript "E" was hit with a plow (pushed in the face and knocked out the back). I went back the next day and found about 1/3 of the back and pushed out (repaired/fixed) the face best to my ability. Total of 6 CS Buttons in almost 10 year......what's up with this ratio?
Hoping You Enjoy The Pictures,
Happy Hunting, Roger

Thats not so bad. I've been detecting since the early 70's.
I have found a C.W. belt buckle with the letters PHG on it and 1 musket ball and 1 button. I consiered myself lucky to have found them. Someday I'll get down south and find more stuff, I hope to add to my collection of 3 CW finds.

Boobie you have a PHG buckle? They are quite rare and worth some cash! I would love to see a pic of it.
Roger the buttons are really nice. I have a button that I will post here and need your opinion on it. I think that I posted it elsewhere and you may have seen it there. When I post it I will elaborate on it more.
Best Regards,

Beautiful CS buttons Roger:bthumb: Did you restore them?
Boobie, I haven't heard of the CW PGH belt buckle. Would you mind scanning it for us? Would love to see it:bow:

Hey Bobbie, You own one of a select few of the PHG Buckles! I'd be willing to trade several hundred or a thousand common Civil War Bullets (my pickings of course) for that buckle you have :mean: ! Just kidding of course  !
Greg, The only thing I've done to any button (shown here) was to push out the face of the Manuscript "E" button. You can see where the disc hit the face and that knocked out the back (I returned the next day and found about 1/3 rd of the back). The others are as found (the Mississippi "A" has a push to the face but doesn't show that in the scan).
Thanks For The Interest And Looking, Roger

Hey raw-war-digger:
You mean that buckle might really be worth something or might be a rare one?????????? You got me excited!!!!!!!! What do you mean by a select few? 100 or 1000.
Thanks for the reply.

If its a rare buckle Boobie then its worth a lot!!!!!! I would suggest putting it under lock and key, after having it appraised of course. As to a select few... I would bet a lot less than a hundred people have one!

Me being a Marine for life and multiple year rifle expert. I would suggest you send it right away to me for safe keeping :rocketwho . OR if your interested in a trade, I would almost hate to part with it but would in this case. What i have are one of the ultra rare .58 cal three ringers, probibly less than a couple million have been dug up but I would part with it for that semi rare buckle. lol....Great find bud.....HH.....Bill
