NICE FIND..Many barrels as well as the smaller wooden casks contained whiskey/water. Frequently these liquid containers were equipped with spigots. There were two types during the CW period. One type was made of pewter and was usually 5 1/2" long and 3" tall and were usually from NEW YORK. Type two was made from brass and was usually 4 1/2" long and 3 inches to the top of the handle. This type usually was from Kentucky.... ( LOOKS LIKE YOU GOT A KENTUCKY SPIGOT)...HOPE THIS HELPED A LITTLE....PAPPY :D :D :D
