My best relic day in awhile

Hit the construction site today. I didnt have very high hopes as the site has been hammered and the dozers have done a number on the site. But low and behold I did pretty darn good! My first signal was the eagle cuff button and then the lead started flying out of the ground. I dug 19 of the 54 cal. bullets out of one hole. The large pocket knife was on top of the bullets. Want to talk about a weird signal. I dug another big 69er and a couple first for me, a pulled bullet and a canteen top. It sure was a fun day of diggin! It could be my last hunt for awhile as they are forecasting a major dumping of snow here in good old Virginia.

WOW!!! I will say that is a great days hunt. Looks like you found all kinds of goodies napsack hooks,bullets,ladle handle,buttons,spoon,canteen top and on and on and on....lol:biggrin:

Hey Marc, Great Day and I assume your still floating from the digging high!!!!! It feels great to finally hit the good stuff after days and days of going without much to show! Then, Bam!! All of a sudden your in digging Heaven, like a dream come true, and continue swinging wondering what will surface next! I love digging the CW Relics and should have gone back today but had things to do around the house!

Snow will not hurt your digging! In fact the best day I've ever had was with 4" of snow on the ground......I could see my grid lay out as I dipped my coil in the snow at the end of each swing! I kept straight lines and piled up the finds in the pasture previously missed from an unconsistant search pattern! The snow intensified the halo of the target!

Awesome digs Mark. I also agree with Roger, in that I have snow hunted relics there in Va. and had very good luck! The halo IS better but you may miss deeper targets as your coil will be off the ground more! Again, great finds.
