Well it got down to 12 degrees this morning and I finally got to the same ole place around 9 AM. I ventured out looking the ridge behind the Old Cementery. My first good signal was frozen in a chunk of dirt 3/4" thick so I lay it in the bed of the truck (at 3:30 I finally got the 1945 wheat out). The wind was very strong and the temp was in the lower 20's with full sunshine.....then it got cloudy and looked as if it were going to snow anytime! After an hour I finally went back to where the Lock Plate was found. Moving over a bit from what was searched yesterday I located the Kerr (MM 439) right off! I started my grid and over an hour later nothing else! Moving down the hill I finally found the Knapsack hook and the shot pistol bullets. Moving around more than ever I found a spot that produced 5 targets of aluminum foil! I finally went back inside the electric fence and found the spur piece and the iron (trunk?) piece with the brass key entrance. About ready to go I crossed back over the fence and started to swing. I found the Poker chip right off and then the brass nose cap shortly after.
I finished the day trying to find (without any luck thus far) a College Class ring in the yard of the landowners brother. Found what I think to be the shot bullet shown in the scan.
I think someone has been to my honey hole and dug it out. Oh, maybe that was me . I have several hundred acres to walk yet! I found 10 pieces of lead, some fake jewerly, most of a pocket knife some unknown brass and only my 4th full brass shotgun hull (damaged of course) and this one reads: 12 GA. / KYNOGH & CO / BIRMINGHAM.
The temps finally reached into the 40's but the wind chill sure didn't feel like it!

Thanks for looking and reading the short story, HH, Roger
