I had a chance to go swing my coil a little while today. Went to my old spot down at Wyse Fork again. Found a couple of dropped three ringers and a round musket ball and several different unknown pieces of brass. My best find of the day was another 'carved' bell. It was about 200 yards from where I found the first one. Talk about doin' a happy dance. I still can't hardly belive it. It got me to thinking though... are they actually carved or were they cast? Either way, it was a rush pulling it out of the ground and adding it to my collection. Anybody know what any of the unidentified pieces are please feel free to fill me in. Thanks for looking.

Happy Holidays,
Mark

Nice finds Mark!...and was'nt it a great day to dig! Nice that the cold has held off just a bit here! The "bell" was carved. I could see the knife marks going down the side of the lead. I am not aware of period lead being cast that way. Sounds like you have a good spot there!

Nice Dig Mark and continued Good Luck at that site! I agree with Travis that the bell was carved. Looks like a small brass spur buckle and two brass civilian umbrella pieces (the two with all the notches). I really can't make out anything else.

The two round geared objects are from a parasol/umbrella and the piece bottom right looks like a candlestick holder. It attatched to a small pan that held the candle. The items I IDed are common CW campsite finds.
