Rusty,
I'll take a stab at the first two pics. The first looks to be 2 .44 cal Elam O. Potters or .44 cal Watervliet Arsenal bullets. The two types are very very similiar. The second pic show two balls and what looks to be another cut in half and I cannot begin to tell you what caliber with out a measurement or something next to them for size comparison. The bullet that looks like male anatomy is very unusual. Based on the pic I would GUESS that it was carved that way! Can you see any knife marks on it? The last pic is also very odd. It looks like that three ringer has either been stretched or flattened out. I can't tell from the pic. It is possible for a bullet to be stretched, if it was loaded into a gun of smaller caliber. I know that I wasnt much help but it is very hard to tell from the pics. When I view them the pics get smaller and fuzzier! I am almost sure about the first two bullets being .44 cal Potters or Watervliets. Take a pic of the balls next to something so I can atleast tell what caliber. Nice bullets bu the way!

Hey Rusty, I'll add my two cents worth. The first scan shows what appears to be a Colt bullet. If you could measure them using calipers would be of great assistance. It looks like a MM 491 (.455 x .714) early Colt army or a MM 489 (.453 x .800) Colt Dragoon or Colt Revolving Rifle or a MM 499 (.366 x .630) Old pattern Colt.
The two complete round balls in the second scan (need measurements to be more accurate) are round balls.....either .69, .58, .54 or smaller. The round balls were smaller than the bore of the rifle it was intended for because of the patch used around the round (just like present day muzzler loaders using the round ball). I can't tell much about the third scan. The fourth scan appears to be about 1/4 of a three groove minie that has been cut into this section.

Hoping I've been of some assistance,
Talk To You Soon, HH, Roger

Thanks for the help. I don't have anything to measure the bullets with,so i will have to figure something out. I found all of these bullets in Utah:biggrin: Is there anything else i can use to determine size of the bullet?

Thanks again
