I have found several of these was wondering how commoc they are and how long were they in use.
Relicman calls these harness covers

Hey Monte I read your post this morning and went out hunting at an old home site today and found one of those heart covers I will post a pic later.
When I dug it I remembered seeing your pic from this morning! Sorry I know nothing on this item but maybe some one can help us with the date on these! The house I am hunting is from around the 40's. Not sure if this item is older or not.

They are decorative harness cinches for a horse harness...Hard to tell how old they are. Kinda have to play it by ear as to where you find them in relationship as to how old the site is. Still in use today...PAPPY:bthumb:
