I found this cuff button today, about 4 1/2 inches deep in a yard here in Greensboro. When it's wet, the gilding is still quite evident. I figure it laid in granny's button box for years and was probably sewn onto a kids jacket or something. It doesn't look to have been in the ground as long as the few others I've found over the years.
