I have not seen a lot of CW era stuff being posted so thought I would post these! I went through my collection the other day and found that I only have about 150 +/- of the known 800-1000 types of CW bullets that were used during the CW. Looks like I have a ways to go! Many will not be found by me.... but can be purchased. To bad I am not rich! Hope all is well with everyone at the Treasure Quest Forum!

Thats a nice display Travis. So far I believe im up to around 35 differant types. But ALL of my bullets cept 1 have came from my one hunting spot we all call "The Farm". The only 3 bullets I have that stick out are one of each of the following. Sharps Multi-Groove, Rebel shotgun slug and probibly rarest is my .22 cal CW pistol ball. Me and A.J. actually had a good day on tuesday and dug 8 bullets between us lol......HH.....Bill

Nice to hear that you guys are still hitting the lead out that way! I am off to N.Va. as my nephew was in a very bad accident. He is in ICU with severe head trauma! May not make it! Talk to you when I get back!

Travis,
How is your nephew doing?

NB Digger

Well....two weeks to the day, today, he is alive!!! We are very very very thankful for that! Having said that... he is far from out of the woods! He continues to slip in and out of conciousness and is responding to stimulation but a lot of that response may just be reflex! This boy poor and his family will have a very very long road to any kind of recovery. We continue to pray that he will pull through and be his old self. I have worked for 15 years now in the field of Developmental Disabilities and Mental Health and have seen what these kinds of traumas can produce. It really really scares me! But, like I said we pray for the best and only time will tell. Thanks for thinking of him Greg!

Thanks for Mr. Thornes name. I would love to hook up with him and talk relics some time! Does he still detect? What does he do for the Palace?

I really like going over to Tryon and looking around. To bad no digging there:confused: . They are tearing up ground right in front of the place. I would bet there might be a few items left in the ground there!

Do you ever get up this way to dig?

Jon is with landscaping so if he could he would be decting it. I have a brother who lives in Taberna and I try to get down there every once in a while. Maybe we can get together

Hello Chris,
Welcome to the forum!!! We look forward to you visiting us and hopefully posting some of your finds as well.
As to your question about the "shotgun" bullets. I have only dug one inthe 12 years I have been digging. But, that is just my luck! LOL! I was with a guy last summer that dug three and he has many more in his collection. I sure would not mind finding a few more!

They are one of the harder ones to find. Mr. thornes name is one that everyone around the New Bern area always asked me about. I have heard of more names in the area but, our little circle of detectorists never seemed to grow. Pretty much the same guys we started with we ended with, with the one addition of GySgt_USMC. But we started to not like him much when he started to learn his machine and was finding as much as we were. A.J. aka Marine0311 was good to dig with, and never found anything unless we walked infront of him and planted stuff. over two years and he never caught on. NBDigger here, ya got to watch out for, he passes up the bullets to take every button out of the earth. lol but other than that, great guys  . HH travis.
