I got this today in the same site where I got the musket ball and the lead thingy. It was laying in between two rocks in dry soil. I thought it should have been white in color but it is not. I am absolute that it is lead. It was about 5 inches deep. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

This is very very curious! It looks like a Civil War Colt pistol bullet! I am really curious as to why it has no patina (white color) on it, especially since you found it in dry soil! A bullet with no patina is usually a water recovery or someone had it their pocket for a long time! I did that to the first bullet I ever found! Wore the patina right off it!

PS--it may be a reproduction bullet!

It does resemble a colt pistol bullet.....but the ring looks alittle odd. The day before yesterday I dug 2 Burnside dish based bullets out out of the same hole. The bullet on top had not an ounce of paterna on it, while the bullet that was an inch lower was completely covered. Straingest CW find so far and I cant explain that one either.
