When out relic hunting last Sunday and pulled over 250 Enfield bullets!! All fired.
Over 20 were Iron cored, several had the box wood plugs and 2 had the clay plugs...all the rest had numbers or letters in the cavities ( well the ones I could see into).
I may have found 6 Whitworth bullets also..again all fired.
Not the 6 sided type but they mike out to .451, and are the correct length and have the proper "cavity"
The problem is I can only make out 5 rifleing marks on the bullets.
Perhaps this is from a Volinteer rifle or some other Brotosh make.
I know this area was only used from 1856-1865 by the Canadian Militia as a shooting range..they then moved to an other area.
There are 1000s of Enfields left in this area...going to get back there next month.
Great day hunting!!!!
