I just dug this beautiful silvered Eagle I, back marked W. H. Horstman, about 20 mins ago (6pm Eastern time) in my back yard!!!!!:) :D :cool: :cool: That makes 5 total Eagles (in my yardP) and by far this one is the best. I am totally freaking out. Never dug a silvered Eagle before and an I button to boot! It must be my birthday!

Great find and finds in your yard!! You get some local diggers and I'll grab a few locals from around here......we'll drive up, camp out and dig up your whole yard......have sifters and everything! I posted this button on another forum as well and found out it is actually a pre-war made button dating to no later than 1845!

Ok travis, now im really puzzled lol . What were the Yanks doing in New Bern in 1845? Those dang yanks had spies there 15 years before the war, no wonder they took New Bern in less than 5 hours lmao. Great find bud. I may have found rare bullets aplenty, but dang a pre-war yank button and a Navy button no where near water.....Sweet
