Went back to the school where I found the 1723 Half penny, and found something that perhaps is as old, and military looking. I will try to post some photos soon. I found an object that is about 1.5" horizontally, and 1" vertically. It has a very detailed criss-cross type rope looking design on the metal. It is centered by a Fleur de lis, and there is an eagle over the fleur de lis. The two "wings" that make up the outer side of the fluer de lis, each have a start in them, and draped across the breast of the eagle, is the military shield. The back has a 3/4" clasp (best way I can describe it) on each side, that fold in, or can be extended out. Any ideas?
