We have several updates listed on our website in regards to the November hunt. We currently have 110 slots open as of 8/25/07 and early registration ends in just over a month on September 30. After that day, the fee jumps up from $85.00 to $100.00.

We have also put on the site a preliminary prize list. We have a lot of cool prizes this year, and we will be adding many more items to it before the big day. Last year, just about nearly everyone won a prize. We are trying this year to make it to where everyone can win something. That way, everyone is sure to have a fun time and take not only a bunch of relics home, but maybe a new relic book, diggin tool, or even a high end relic.

The average number of relics found by hunters at last year's hunt was 80-120, depending on how you hustle when you hunt. This is a competition hunt for most, but many people enjoy just coming out, taking their time diggin, and visiting with other diggers who enjoy their hobby as well. The hunt site is located in the country, about 15 miles from the sign in location in Dover, and is on over 1,000 acres of beautiful woodlands. That time of year, the leaves have changed, the weather is goregous, and it's an awesome time to be out in the grass digging.

The last two years of having the hunt, hunters have found items that we did not bury, that were native to the site. Ohio troops camped on this property on their way from Ft. Donelson to Clarksville because of the beautiful blue spring located on the property. There was even an iron furnace that the soldiers supposedly took a cannon to and destroy. One hunter found a soldiers brass ring in the parking area the first year, another hunter found a beautiful arrowhead in a worn dirt filled area. You never know.

Check out this link for our prize list and let us know if you have any questions regarding the hunt. http://www.fortdonelsonrelics.com/2008PrizeList.htm (http://www.fortdonelsonrelics.com/2008PrizeList.htm) Thanks for checking us out!

Only 2 weeks left before early registration ends. The hunt fee is currently $85.00 up until September 30th, and as long as the envelope is post marked by or on the 30th, the fee will be $85.00. After that date, the hunt fee jumps to $100.00 up until the evening before the hunt. We are just past the 100 mark on registrations and we are in the process of burying relics out at the hunt site. Check out our prize list as we have had several additions, including an Austrian Lorenze civil war musket. The prize list will continue to grow over the next 4-6 weeks. I will continue to post updates on the slots available, up until the November 3rd. Thanks for reading!
