Went diggin for a little while today! The ground was so hard that it actually rolled the cutting edge on my Predator shovel. And, as if that wasn't enough, I dug a thin piece of brass with arrows and a wreath around it. I couldn't tell it from the very hard dirt, soooo, "I cut it in half. I dug one coin, can't tell what it is yet. The little chunks of what appear to be lead, aren't lead. They don't have the right patina and they are also very hard. If you scratch them they are very shiny, and they are also very heavy. Also "eyeballed" a possible axe head, made of stone.
Any suggestions on the brass piece? Could the "camp lead" actually be melted coins?
