found this last saturday its the smaller cuff button (15mm) size i was wondering if it came off an officer's uniform or just a regular soldiers uniform

Del your button is a general issued infantry button.

First off, Welcome to the Forum del! I agree with Raymond. It appears to be in great shape with a lot of Gilt left! Show the back with it's marking.

here's the back , it says scovill mfg.co.followed by three dots or stars , the only reason is i thought it might be an officer's cuff button is because this button was found 20 yards away and it looks to be an officer's button it is the large one

Hey del the large button is a OFFICER'S button look's like it has 23 star's
look' like it is a GS 12B BACK MARK Steele & Johnson/Waterbury CT.

it has 24 stars and on the back it says " extra rich quality "
