Went back to the same place today. Took my son Matthew, these were his finds. The mushroomed bullet may be a modern, I'm not sure. One of the bullets looks like it has been carved on, with the small cuts on the top groove. The iron piece, I don't know. It may be a gun tool, what do you guys think?
All I found today was a "mess plate". It is complete and after cleanup, I will try to post a pic. :)

Great finds glad you got the chance to get out with your son who know in a few more years Braxton may be tagging along with us I can't wait
Keeping his attention will be the biggest problem..I can imagin that age and getting bored LOL

Hey Danny,
Glad Matthew and You were able to get out and go swinging/dirt fishing! From what I can see, I think it is an open end gun tool! Was wondering if you can show a close-up of the bullet with the cut marks.....and if Will can show a close-up of his?
Great Finds, Awaiting The Mess Plate picture!

Roger,
Here's the closeup of the bullet. The cuts can barely be seen around the top ring. This is a pulled bullet, there is some damage to the nose.
