My Finds on 12-22-2007

I returned to a spot that I usually hunt only once a year......just prior to having Dinner for our Thanksgiving or Christmas get together. I hunted this place hard a few year back and burnt it out, or I really thought so! My last trip (11-23-2006) produced 2 bullets and a "GS" button & the trip on (11-20-2005) produced 4 bullets.
Hoping the newly tuned Ground Hawks might sniff out a few more relics, I put on my ORANGE VEST and started close to the Old Stage Stop / Home Place. After a few finds with the Analog machine I changed to the Digital machine & took off to the known Camp Site(s).
I was truly suprised at the items I had missed on prior trips! Some targets were in thick cover but just under the leaves or very shallow. The ground mineral is Very Bad caused from the Limestone and used to be a hog pen. Several of the wormed .58's came from around this Limestone Sink Hole.
Uncleaned finds laying on the orange vest back at the car before leaving & then after a good cleaning. I really enjoyed my first day of digging in over a month!!

WTG, Roger!! Glad you were able to finally get some diggin time in without getting shot by some trigger happy deer hunter. It just goes to show you that no spot is never truely "hunted out". Hope you get back out there soon.

To have that many pulled minie in one location tells ya something.They where there for a spell,nice going on the finds,and I love the way the minnie came out white.Daniel

That's some real good finds for that area. The last time Raymond and I went in there, we just turned around and left. The brush and tree tops were just too thick to get through. Keep up the good work.
