2-8-08 finds

I finally managed to get out for a dig! Has been about three weeks but worth the wait. Havent dug this much lead in a long while!

Glad you were able to go diggin' and found some lead. Seems that you've found a Calvary camp from all being Sharps?

Hey Roger!
I wish it was a camp...but in doing some research I found that the 6th NY Cav. gathered/staged here, on the farm, as a lead element of thier group was being attacked by some of Mosby's Rangers about 1/2 mile from here. These guys then gave chase and ran Mosby's men down to the river! I have dug about 200 of these Sharps out of the front field over the years; as many of them came to light when we plowed! I was surprised noone had ever thought to hunt it before but glad noone has!!!
I got your email and will call you as soon as I get a chance to catch a breath! Been really busy man and I apologize for not contacting you sooner!

Nice finds bud. Sharps just happen to be one of my favorite to find. Its been awhile sense ive found that much lead.....HH......Bill
