Found this bullet today at the same place I found the other "picket" bullet I posted last weekend. It looks modern except for the amount of discoloration. Looks like it's been in the ground for a long time. It measures about 8.9mm diameter and 15.79mm tall. The underside of the base is sightly concave.

padmaster,
8.9 mm makes it a .35cal modern bullet.

Thanks Tom, what do you think about the bullet below? Someone on another forum suggested it's copper jacketed....and it looks like it. But it looks old.

padmaster,
There were no jacketed bullets made in the ACW by either side so that one has to be from a later period. From the ratio of length to diameter it looks to me to be a pistol/revolver bullet, rifle bullets tend to be longer.
Can you get some measurements?
Sorry that I can't be of more help on this one.

It measures about 16.4mm tall x 13.7mm at the base.
