The only thing Special is the Fact that I went DIGGIN today! I worked 4 hours, tried to call and regain permission to an old site......no confirmation even though I spoke to the Mrs. and got the cell # of Mr.
Drove to another Old site and finally was off swinging. I think this is about half of a Butcher's Knife? or something to that nature.....this piece is 8 1/2" long. I do believe the two brass casings are Civil War Period Derringer. Both were dug from the same hole. No headstamp, both fired, measure .41 and short. Maybe a double barrel Derringer spent them both?
Anyway, I enjoyed the dig until time to leave.......It's straight up hill all the way! PaPaw was tired after all this!
