The story goes the Confederates were retreating through Pulaski Tn. The 20 wagons of supplies were slowing their retreat so wagons were ordered to be burned in place. A friend took me to the spot where he has found several bullets through the years. My M6 was the only detector to find a prize and it found two. I think one is a 27 Cal., and I'm not sure of the round ball....I haven't seen a lot of what I think is a 27 cal..Are they more difficult to find? Thanks for looking!
PS : There are no signs that these two projectiles were ever fired.

Hey George,
The buck balls & some pistol balls were .28 to .31. I couldn't tell you which one was for what unless it was found with a .69 shot!
Uncertain about the little conical as well?

George, does your bullet have cannellures in the groove? It's hard to see from your pic. If so, it is post war. If not, good chance it's period but I only know of .28 caliber projectiles, but yours is unknown to me. The round ball is most likley buck shot.
Good hunting,
David
